In the American League, the longest major league baseball game ever played occured on May 8, 1984. The game was at Comiskey Park as the Chicago White Sox battled the Milwaukee Brewers. By the end of the eight inning, both the White Sox and Brewers were tied at one. In the top of the ninth, the Brewers scored two runs. The White Sox matched it in the bottom of the ninth and the game went into extra innings. For the next 11 innings, neither team would score a run. Then, in the top of the 21st inning, the Brewers scored three runs and it looked like the game would finally be over. However, in the bottom of the 21st inning, the White Sox scored three runs and the game continued, now tied at 6-6. (article copyright, NEWSdial.com).
