Finding The Right Doctor Helped Sinus Infection Patient

I've had sinus infections since 1990. I never felt "well". It seemed I was always on antibiotics, but who knew if it was the right one to treat what bacteria was growing. I've had 5 sinus related surgeries and have been to many doctors. One doctor was the head of the ENT department of a leading hospital in my area but was arrogant and of NO help. He refused to culture for fungus during one of my surgeries.

My allergist gave me names of two doctors he respected through comments from his other patients. That doctor is the one that has help me so much. He listens and believes me. He's willing to develop a plan that works for ME. He cultures the drainage so I know I'm taking an appropriate antibiotic and tested for fungus when he did surgery on my sinuses in 2002. I was growing the fungus curvularia!

Since treatment with Sporanox and irrigation with Amphotericin B, I'm doing GREAT. I've had only 2 or 3 infections in 3 years and feel well, have energy and can breathe through my nose. Don't give up...find the right doctor and there's hope.
