Allergy Experience #002
Local Bee Pollen Reduces Need for Allergy Medication

I live in an agricultural county in Northern California, where allergies and asthma are increasing at an alarming rate. I have suffered with severe seasonal allergies and moderate to severe asthma for several years. Last winter a friend suggested that I try local bee pollen. She claimed to have had significant improvement in her own symptoms after using it. I did a little research and found a health food store that sells local pollen each spring. I used the pollen from March until August, (my typical allergy season) and the results were amazing.

For years my daily line-up of drugs consisted of : Allegra, Flonase, Qvar, Albuterol and Sudafed. With the pollen treatment I only had to take Allegra about a dozen times this year. I did not use Albuterol at all, and the duration of my use of Qvar was cut in half. I was skeptical when I first started the pollen, but now I am convinced that it is effective, and I will be using it every spring from now on. I was also told that a daily serving of locally grown honey is also effective, but I have not tried it.
